This creature will feature in a video game I am working on. It will be an enemy perusing the player, I thought therefore that the run cycle should be scary and signal the creature's ill intent.
I had deep sea spider crabs #not_a_true_crab and big spiders as reference for this beast, but we afterwards decided to remove the eyes to make the creature more unknowable, cold and alien.
This was my very first time animating an arthropod walk cycle, and I can confirm that the more legs, the more fun it gets!
